The guys over at Hunterworks have released several new products for the Rhino, including a new windshield and a black, aluminum roof (pictured here). They are also now a dealer for Elka shocks (check out their site soon for more information).

If you're going to be in the Las Vegas area (or don't mind taking a road trip) from Jan. 19-21, 2006, you may want to stop by the Las Vegas Convention Center to check out the 2006 Off-Road Impact Trade Show. The guys from Rhino Craft will have a booth at the show and there should be some other great retailers showing off their wares.

The Guam Office of Homeland Security yesterday presented more than $75k worth of equipment to the Guam Police Department, Guam Fire Department and the Department of Agriculture. Maxxis and Yamaha Partner to Produce OE Tire for Rhino

In a two-year joint effort, engineers with Maxxis and Yamaha have created original equipment tires for all four models of the Rhino, Yamaha’s cutting edge ATV. A two-seat vehicle with a five-valve engine, the Rhino has a 400-pound capacity bed.

Maxxis supplies the M951 and the M952 for use with the Rhino. “We’re very pleased with the outcome of this project. The Rhino is on the forefront of the ATV market, and collaborating with Yamaha has allowed us to create a tire perfectly suited for the demands of this special machine,” said Scott Griffin, Specialty Tire Manager with Maxxis.

Off-Road.comhas a cool articleon their website about the guys over at Jagged Extreme in Phoenix, Arizona. These guys started out building rock crawlers and began customizing Rhinos about two years ago. They already had to expand their shop for all of the custom Rhino jobs they've gotten; they even painted a Rhino for Ted Nugent's reality show, Surviving Nugent (the rest of the modifications were done by Hunterworks). According to the article, the Jagged Extreme website will soon have a full-blown parts list for all of the custom Rhino parts they've developed.

Maya Hunter II is part of a very special expedition package. Vanderbilt University archaeologists received the keys to a “jungle-ready” 2005 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 V6 pickup called “Maya Hunter” at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) trade show Nov.3. In addition, Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., donated a Yamaha Rhino 660, which will be towed on a trailer behind the Tacoma on a customized tandem-axle aluminum trailer.

Rhino Named Official Utility Vehicle of AMA Superbike and AMA Motocross

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (June 3, 2004) -- AMA Pro Racing today announced an
agreement with Yamaha Motor Corporation that will make the manufacturer
the "Official Utility Vehicle of AMA Superbike and AMA Motocross".

As part of the agreement, Yamaha will supply AMA Pro Racing with their
all-new dual passenger Rhino 660 four-wheel drive utility vehicles for
use at AMA Superbike and AMA Motocross events.

"The Rhino 660 is our latest concept in utility vehicles, with seating
for two, a large-capacity cargo bed and the highest ground clearance in
the industry," Yamaha Motor Corporation Communications Director Bob
Starr said.

"The automotive-style controls and On-Command(tm) push-button 4x4 system
help make the vehicle easy, durable and safe to use. We're confident the
Rhino will prove to be extremely useful for AMA Pro Racing."

"As the Official Utility Vehicle of Superbike and Motocross, the Yamaha
Rhino 660 will aid our staff with on-site operations and race
management," AMA Pro Racing Vice President, Commercial Development John
Farris said. "Our staff is looking forward to putting the Rhinos to work
at the races."

In exchange for supplying the Rhino vehicles, Yamaha receives the right
to promote themselves as the Official Utility Vehicle of AMA Superbike
and AMA Motocross as well as various other marketing considerations.
